After over a year catching up on other things, I spent 2 intense weeks finishing my Cape Ann Storm---just barely in time for a trip to Minnesota's Voyager's National Park for a 6 day trip with my brother (still need to varnish it!). I had plenty of room for camping gear, and the hatches are totally watertight. It handles beautifully, and is much faster than my LT17 okume kayak. I have recently had it out in 4 foot waves in Lake Michigan, and it is very seaworthy; I especially like the way the bow easily rides up over waves, rather than ploughing through them. This was a fun project, and your instructions are crystal clear (notice that I only contacted you once for clarification). The hull is Western Red Cedar, the deck is redwood, the white accents are pine, and the black accents are an African wood called wenge. I have included some pictures from Voyager's. Thanks again for such a great design. - Ed Kuzmarski

Because the kayak has not been varnished, the finish is a bit mottled and dull; also there are some epoxy runs; not to mention scrapes and scratches from the trip to Minnesota!!!
